Dong Nai boosts education to attract investment

As competition for foreign investment among localities intensifies, Dong Nai is proactively raising education quality as a strategic advantage to increase its appeal to investors and lay the groundwork for sustainable FDI growth.

Beyond traditional strengths such as synchronised infrastructure and preferential policies, foreign investors are increasingly focused on the quality of local human resources and the availability of schools that meet the educational needs of their experts’ families. These are considered key factors in building a favourable, stable, and long-term competitive investment environment.

Strategic transformation: high-quality human resources ready for the high-tech wave

Strategic workforce transformation

Developing education and training high-quality human resources for the future high-tech industry

Under Dong Nai Province’s Master Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, the locality is oriented to develop into a national-level education, training, and vocational education centre [1].

This orientation provides a long-term foundation for cultivating a high-quality workforce capable of meeting the demands of high-tech industries and value-added services.

In parallel, the province plans to develop large-scale university education zones in key growth areas such as Long Thanh Airport City, Nhon Trach Urban Area, and Long Khanh Urban Area.

Placing training institutions near industrial zones strengthens the connection between educational establishments and businesses, while facilitating more efficient training and recruitment activities within the locality.

Dong Nai is also advancing a training model closely tied to real business needs, through collaboration among vocational education institutions, innovation centres, and manufacturing conglomerates. The province encourages enterprises to invest in vocational education or establish dedicated training funds, enabling them to take a more proactive role in developing a workforce aligned with long-term investment attraction and industrial transformation goals.

Digital transformation in education: preparing the workforce for a digital future

Dong Nai’s Education and Training sector is being driven to innovate in line with the Provincial People’s Committee’s directives, with a focus on comprehensive digital transformation through the application of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

This process aims to build a unified, interconnected education data system that effectively serves both administration and training.

Integrating AI and information technology into curricula from an early stage helps students develop digital thinking throughout their education. As a result, the province’s future workforce will be better equipped to adapt to modern manufacturing environments, automated production lines, and smart factory models within the FDI business ecosystem.

Additionally, Dong Nai’s departments and agencies are coordinating to implement a comprehensive set of solutions. The Department of Finance focuses on securing the education budget; the Department of Construction oversees the appraisal and development of modern school infrastructure; while the Department of Natural Resources and Environment prioritises cleared land for educational facilities – all contributing to long-term improvements in education quality.

KTG Industrial – Ready-built warehouse solutions ahead of the FDI wave in Dong Nai

Alongside the province’s strategy to develop a high-quality workforce through education, industrial infrastructure also plays a critical role in attracting and retaining large-scale investors.

KTG Industrial currently provides a system of ready-built warehouses and factory units at multiple strategic locations in Dong Nai, primarily in Nhon Trach and Tam Phuoc. The projects are designed to serve the diverse needs of manufacturing enterprises, particularly FDI companies expanding operations in the southern region.

In Nhon Trach, KTG Industrial is developing multiple project clusters including KTG Industrial Nhon Trach 1 and KTG Industrial Nhon Trach 2, with Nhon Trach 2 currently being expanded into Phase 4, featuring increasingly complete infrastructure and scale.

The Tam Phuoc area also sees the presence of projects such as KTG Industrial Tam Phuoc A and KTG Industrial Tam Phuoc B, oriented toward providing synchronised ready-built factory units that allow businesses to launch production operations quickly and minimise time-to-operation.

Conclusion

Dong Nai is building a new competitive edge by simultaneously advancing education, developing high-quality human resources, and upgrading industrial infrastructure. This strategy enhances the province’s FDI appeal and strengthens its position within the southern key economic region.

As technological requirements, automation, and operational standards continue to rise, investment decisions are no longer driven by cost or location alone – they also depend on the availability of the right workforce and a compatible industrial ecosystem.
